Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain is following CSKA Moscow wing-back Yuri Zhirkov.
The Russia international is seen by Begiristain as a potential replacement for Sylvinho, who is coming off contract in June.
Barca plan an end-of-season bid for Zhirkov.
