Barcelona chief Alemany delivers update on Messi transfer plans

Barcelona sports chief Mateu Alemany is coy about their plans to re-sign PSG star Lionel Messi.

Alemany last week revealed the two parties have been in contact as Messi's deal runs down.

"We do our thing, Leo does his thing; and you never know [what happens] in the future," Alemany told Movistar+.

Push if Messi will return to Barca, he continued: "On this subject I have nothing to say.

"Messi is living legend for Barcelona. He is the best in the history of football. The esteem in which he is held in this club is unquestionable. He is at PSG fighting for titles and we are fighting for ours. In the future we will see what happens."

Meanwhile, Alemany insists there's no talks with sponsors in order to cover Messi's salary in case he decides to return.

"We are not doing anything in that sense at the moment," he said.
