Barcelona challenge Liverpool for Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini

Barcelona are interested in Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Mundo Deportivo says Barca have set their sights on the 24-year-old who can leave the Stadio Olimpico if he fails to extend his contract with the Serie A side.

However, they're not alone, with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid also keen. In Italy, it's been reported Liverpool have met Pellegrini's buyout clause - which is set at €30m.

Barcelona have already contacted Roma to discuss the midfielder's future, though no offer has been tabled.

Pellegrini is now out of Euro 2020 after suffering a muscle injury with Italy this week.
