Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa is in talks with the agent of PSG midfielder Marco Verratti.

Freixa was confirmed on Saturday as one of five candidates to stand for the July 18 election.

Sport says Freixa and several of his staff met with Donato di Campli, Verratti's agent, just last week.

On the table was the prospect of Verratti moving to Barca and how to negotiate the Italian's way out of Paris.

Meanwhile, it's also revealed that former Barca midfielder Jose Maria Bakero is set to join Freixa's ticket in a football capacity.
