Balotelli: I don't know why Ibra attacked me; he calls himself God - we should pray to him

Mario Balotelli admits he's baffled by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's attack on him last week.

Balotelli's former Inter Milan teammate declared the Adana Demirspor had wasted his career.

In response, Balotelli posted a photo of him celebrating winning the Champions League with Inter - the season Ibrahimovic left for Barcelona.

He later told TVPlay: "I don't know why he attacked me for no reason publicly. I agree with him on Leao, he has strokes of genius, but I didn't understand what he meant by 'Balotelli is in the stands'. He may prefer Leao to me, but his attack was a bit stupid. He created this character in which he identifies with God, pray to him then."

What does the public photo with the Champions League mean?

"That I played important matches, maybe he disappeared in some. I feel that Champions League is mine, absolutely. I honestly didn't think there was this doubt until today, it's impossible not to give credit to the team the moment you lift that trophy. Then it's obvious that Milito had a greater impact, but it's not that Materazzi, for example, didn't win it."

Have you wasted every opportunity in your career?

"No, my career speaks for itself. I don't think I have to hide because of my career. I still made some mistakes, I could have managed the talent differently and Ibrahimovic has always told me, he's right, but not about everything. Maybe I would have won a Ballon d'Or, I can say that easily. My regrets are three: having left Inter, City and Liverpool in those moments."

What relationship did you have with Ibrahimovic?

"It's always been normal, it wasn't easy to play with him because he gets in the way. I have a stronger character than him and I didn't suffer from him too much, but in any case his influence was constructive for me, you manage to give the maximum. He wasn't an older brother, for me it was Materazzi more. I don't think he was ever top scorer in a European Championship and his farewell helped us win the Champions League."

If he had been there would he have made the bench?

"You should ask Mourinho (laughs). With Sneijder I got along great, Milito was King Midas, he scored everywhere and deserved the Ballon d'Or. Eto'o? Always decisive."
