Tottenham winger Gareth Bale says last season's stunning campaign was thanks to his teammates.

Bale emerged to finally meet the expectations fans have had of him since his days at Southampton.

He told hotspur magazine: "You can only achieve as a team and while I've been fortunate...I have to pay tribute to all the other lads. The club is going in the right direction and I'm delighted to be here.

"It's always nice to receive an award from your own fans as they are the people who watch you every week. <> "Our supporters have always been great to me and I really appreciate that because I rate them as the best around."
