Tottenham ace Gareth Bale admits he enjoyed training with David Beckham last season.

Bale has been hailed as the natural successor to the Manchester United legend's crown as the golden boy of British football.

The apprentice got to see the master in action when the LA Galaxy superstar trained with Tottenham last season.

Bale told The Sun: "He's a great person and a great player. He showed in training just how good he is. I would love to play in the same Great Britain team as him. He is a great professional and would be a great leader for a young team at the Games.

"It would be good for the Olympics, good for football and good for Britain if he could do that.

"I'd even let him take the free-kicks!"
