Bale breaks Spurs winning duck after over two years

Gareth Bale finally experienced a win as a Tottenham player in their triumph over Burnley.

After two years and four months, 25 games and 1,533 minutes of action Bale was finally part of a winning Tottenham Hotspur team in the Barclays Premier League as they beat Burnley 5-0.

But only just and only when the match was safe with his side four goals to the good.

Bale came on as an 84th-minute substitute for Aaron Lennon to break his winless streak having joined Spurs from Southampton for an initial payment of £5m in May 2007. In fact, Bale's previous taste of league victory was when the Saints defeated Southend United 4-1 on May 6, 2007.
