Everton fullback Leighton Baines says qualifying for Europe is crucial for the current team's future.
Boss David Moyes has still to decide whether he will go into a 12th season in charge and European football could also help keep the likes of Marouane Fellaini at the club.
Baines said: "For the ambitions of the top players and also the manager, it is important we finish in Europe.
"If we can get into Europe it may help us in the transfer market as it makes the club more appealing.
"The manager hasn't said anything about his own position but you'd have to think Europe is important to his ambitions."
