Bahrain has begun its quest to qualify for the 2011 Asian Cup in the best possible way with a 3-1 away win over Hong Kong.
Goals from Ismaeel Abdullatef and Abdulla Baba was followed by a late goal to Salman Isa before Hong Kong substitute Cheng Siu Wai got a consolation for the home side.
The win however received criticism from coach Milan Macala who says his side were poor in the second half.
"The first game is over and we have three very important points," said Macala.
"I'm satisfied with the first-half, we played some good football, had good movement and we scored two goals.
"But in the second-half we looked like we were celebrating and Hong Kong were strong and aggressive.
"In the second-half the players came out like the game was over and allowed the Hong Kong team to think they had a chance. It was 2-0 and if at that moment Hong Kong had scored, the situation would not have been good.
"But sometimes in football you play well and don't get a good result and sometimes you don't play well but still get a good result."
