AZ Alkmaar chief Toon Gerbrands is thrilled with their sale of Jozy Altidore to Sunderland.

Gerbrands is proud of the way they've helped Altidore reignite his career.

"We had bought him from Villarreal and he was very expensive, with a big salary on the payroll, which we never could meet," recalled Gerbrands.

"Our strategy is correct. Incredible, but it is not just about incredible amounts for us. It is wonderful to see what has happened. Jozy, who was sitting at a dead end as a striker, is now back up and running."
