Released West Ham veteran James Collins is wanted by Middlesbrough.

The Mirror says Tony Pulis is interested in throwing Collins a lifeline at Middlesbrough.

The Boro chief is one of the first managers to have contacted the former Wales international who was dumped by West Ham via email last week.

The one obstacle to any potential move is the fact that Collins, now 34, is settled in the south and would have to uproot to move to the north-east.

Hammers co-chairman David Gold has insisted new manager Manuel Pellegrini could offer Collins new terms.
