Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas apologised to fans after their 6-0 thrashing at Manchester City.
The north London club suffered their joint heaviest defeat in the Premier League, conceding after just 14 seconds in a comprehensive 6-0 humiliation at the hands of Manuel Pellegrini's side.
Spurs were thumped 7-1 by Newcastle United in 1996.
The club's official feed read: "Andre to the fans: The only thing I can say is 'Sorry.' It's a very poor result, not to our level."
