After securing Koke and Antoine Griezmann to new contracts, Atletico are now to take up a 12-month option with Torres.

AS says the veteran striker is their next piece of business on the club's agenda.

Torres has offers from Mexico and China, but his priority has always been to remain in Madrid.

The new deal has the full support of Atletico coach Diego Simeone, who assured Torres in the final week of the season that he wanted him to stay.
