Brazilian forward Samuel Lino is set to sign for Atletico Madrid.

Lino hails from Gil Vicente in Portugal.

If signed, Lino would be loaned back to the Primeira Liga side in Portugal to finish the current season before joining up with the Atleti first team in summer, says Marca.

Lino was tipped to be Luis Diaz's replacement at Porto, after he left for Liverpool. However, Sky Sports have reported that Los Colchoneros have beaten the Portuguese side to his signature.

Gil Vicente are currently fifth in the Primeira Liga this season and Lino's 19 starts, six goals and three assists put him on the radar of a number of top teams in Europe. His immediate loan back to Gil Vicente would enable him to play his part as the club look to finish in the European places come the end of the season.

A creative and technically gifted player, it is clear that Diego Simeone has an eye on Lino to be a hit at Atleti in the years to come.
