Cristian 'Cebolla' Rodriguez is believed to be interested in a potential move to MLS according to reports.
The Uruguayan winger, 29, is currently on loan with Parma from Spain's Atletico Madrid but is seeking a shift away from the Italian club who are experiencing financial uncertainty.
"Unfortunately the club has many problems, we are all working for free now," he told El Larguero radio program.
"I came to Parma with the intention of playing more to get ready for this summer's Copa America since I wanted to get ready. I wasn't playing much at Atletico Madrid.
"What is happening here is a shame, the employees haven't been paid in seven months. Some players abandoned the team because of the situation.
"I could find a team in the United States or Brazil for the next three or four months, this would allow me to play and find my form."
83-time Uruguay international Rodriguez started his career in his homeland with Penarol in 2002 before moving to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in 2005 and then onto Portugal's FC Porto in 2008 after a loan stint with Benfica.
