Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are battling for Porto wing-back Miguel Layun.

Record says Atletico have joined Arsenal in the race to secure the signature of former Watford defender Layun.

Atleti want to sign a left-back to provide back-up for Filipe Luis and could turn to Layun after being linked with Jonny from Celta Vigo and Yuri Berchiche from Paris Saint-Germain.

Mexico international Layun is on the books at Porto but Sevilla, who signed him on loan in January, have the option to secure his services on a permanent basis for €6m by the end of the month, although they are unlikely to activate that option.

Both Arsenal and AC Milan have enquired about the 30-year-old.
