Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has left the door open to Joao Felix returning.

Felix is on-loan at Barcelona this season, where he has kicked off his spell in spectacular fashion.

However, Cerezo insists there could still be a way back for the striker next season.

He said, "He's one of our players, we have to protect him, help him and think that if he's fine, it's good for us. We've always said, myself first and foremost, that he's a fantastic player and he's proving it at Barcelona. He didn't adapt with us, he wasn't lucky.

"Yet he is a great player and he is proving it at Barcelona. Great players always end up showing their talent."
