Atletico Madrid are pouring all their resources into landing Benfica winger Simao Sabrosa.

While maintaining contact with Porto over Ricardo Quaresma, Atletico are now stepping up talks for Simao because of his greater capacity to score from midfield. Indeed, Atletico sports chief Jesus Garcia Pitarch, says AS, prefers Simao over Quaresma.

Simao's buyout clause is £17 million, however Atletico are confident a bid of £10 million will be enough to land the winger.
