Atletico Madrid want to sell want-away striker Sergio Aguero to Chelsea or Manchester City.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo insisted the club would fight tooth and nail to keep striker Aguero from signing for Real Madrid.
He said: "There are many teams apart from Real Madrid. It would be an act of aggression if Madrid paid the £40million get-out clause but, if another team comes and pays, it would not be an act of aggression.
"It may be that Real are interested but I don't think he'll sign for them. And we would put a clause to whoever buys him that they could not sell him to Real."
Real are still the frontrunners but Chelsea are certain to be in the bidding along with big-spending City.
