Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted with their Copa del Rey quarterfinal win against Sevilla.

Memphis Depay proved the matchwinner for the 1-0 triumph on Thursday.

Simeone said: "I am fortunate that the footballers who enter, enter based on what my head imagines. It turned out well and it is said that 'how good the changes', if it goes wrong, it is said that 'what does it do?'.

"We live with this and we have to represent it thanks to the footballers, both resolved with their one against one. Coincidentally, one made the play and another the goal. And Barrios also played a great game with legs in the middle. They are all important, I am happy because those who who came in represented what the game asked for.

"There was a different weight in the atmosphere, Sevilla had closed very well. Everything was flat and there they felt better. Except for the penalty, we did not create situations to create difficulties for them. They grew and throughout the second half the game already had another speed, we went deeper and took more risks offensively and the changes gave us that jump in speed that the team needed to reach the result that the entire stadium wanted."

He added: "We want this competition because we made a great effort to be where we are and in the first half we could not develop the game that we would have wanted. How can we not celebrate a play that did not enter into what was happening in the game. That's why I celebrated the joy to be in a semi-final."
