Atletico Madrid coach Simeone praises 2-goal Correa for victory over Cadiz

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted with two-goal Angel Correa after victory over Cadiz.

Atletico won 3-2, with Nahuel Molina also on the scoresheet.

Simeone said, "We started the game very well, in the first ten minutes we had chances to go 0-2. We could see that the team was doing well but also that they could create danger on the counterattack as we saw in the first goal. In the second they took advantage of the aerial game and we did not defend as we should have.

"We found ourselves in two plays with goals from them, there was no need to get nervous because the game was designed for what happened to happen. At half-time we talked about sustaining the attack and playing closer to the opponent's area.

"The third goal was a great goal."

On Correa, Simeone also said: "He played the entire game with a little pain but he had worked well these days before the game. We trust in what he has, near the area he is very dangerous, he must be patient like today to be at the right moment. It makes me very happy.

"He is working very well and knows that he is in those eleven or twelve that have more continuity within the team and knowing that if he is well he has a leading role."

He continued: "I don't start to think so much, I only think about what we have ahead of us and it doesn't matter if we are thirteen or fourteen, we must be strong and that the boys will give us a hand.

"We need to have the whole group, the team responded very well after a tough match against Osasuna three days ago. Now we play in three days and we have to adapt to what we have to do to compete in the best way on Wednesday."
