Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre admits they considered a summer move for new Real Madrid signing Julien Faubert.

Faubert completed his loan switch from West Ham over the weekend and Aguirre revealed: "I know him because Jesus Garcia Pitarch sent me a dvd of this boy, when he played in France. And we looked earlier this season at him as an opportunity for someone who could help us out.

"He's fast, explosive and good in one-on-ones.

"We talked about a price. But in the end it didn't happen. You look at players and sometimes go in another direction."
