Atletico Madrid are confident of beating all rivals for goalkeeper Pepe Reina should he become available from Liverpool.

AS says Atletico are monitoring Reina's situation at Anfield this season and are confident of landing the shot-stopper if he decides to leave Anfield in the summer.

Reina's Dad is a former Atletico No1 and he also shares the same agent as Luis Garcia, Manuel Garcia Quilon, who has close ties to the Madrid club.

Atletico are also keen to lure Reina's Liverpool teammate Xabi Alonso back to Spain.
