Atletico Madrid have moved to beat Barcelona for Deportivo La Coruna wing-back Luis Filipe.
The Brazilian's representatives have made no secret of their desire to see the defender move to the Nou Camp this summer.
However, AS says Atletico have made a serious approach for Filipe and are confident of winning the battle for his signature courtesy of their close relationship with Depor.
Depor are seeking £12 million for Filipe, but Atletico hope to talk down that figure by including midfielder Miguel de las Cuevas in their offer. Furthermore, Depor still owe £1.7 million on the transfer of defender Ze Castro from Atletico.
