Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has received a bumper contract offer from Athletic Bilbao.

AS says the United midfielder could leave this summer and with Fred joining the club from Shakhtar Donestk it could spell more trouble for the 28-year-old.

Herrera would likely be the fall guy if Jose Mourinho were to play a midfield three with Fred, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba all in line ahead of him.

And reports in Spain claim he could rejoin his former club Athletic Bilbao.

Bilbao are interested in the midfielder returning and are willing to make him their highest-paid player according to the report.

However, although it is believed United will listen to their offer, Mourinho is reportedly unhappy at the idea of losing Herrera without a replacement being identified.
