Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is delighted to be in the Spain World Cup squad.
Kepa had an injury midseason, but was confident of making the final cut.
He told Marca: "In the end, when you're injured and you have hubbub going on, well... I didn't think about the long term. I was focused on recovering well to get back playing and focusing on my future. I didn't think so far ahead, I had much more immediate things to worry about."
On his on-off move to Real Madrid, Kepa continued: "They're the words of a coach who wasn't my coach at the time. I tried to isolate myself from all the noise. It was a time when there weren't LaLiga games and there weren't many other signings either so it was in the press a lot. I tried not to think about everything they were saying."
