Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was happy after their 2-1 win against Celta Vigo.

Iñaki Williams and Alex Berenguer struck for Athletic on Saturday.

Valverde said: "We can breathe again. It was essential to win today and to get the three points no matter what," Valverde said during his post-match press conference.

"We were on a bad run and we had to put a stop to it because in these last few games we're playing to achieve the goal we set ourselves at the start of the season.

"Even though they had some chances, we managed to take an early lead. Even after the equaliser in the second half, we reacted quickly and were able to extend our lead. We were strong when it mattered."

On Los Rojiblancos' chances of qualifying for Europe, he said: "We have to embrace this chance and make the most of it. We can't get carried away. The team is absolutely committed, but sometimes we haven't been able to win.

"Today we had three important points on the line and now we have to go to Pamplona and win again."
