Atalanta president Ivan Ruggeri admits they were convinced they had a deal for Ezequiel Lavezzi in the summer before the Argentine joined Napoli.

He said: "It's a shame, because we had everything agreed with his agent, but then he chose to play for Napoli, a bigger club."
