Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has sparked more controversy with allegations of brawling with a Real Madrid player.

According to 8TV journalist Nuria Cases, after their title celebrations, Pique, along with Marc Bartra, Jeremy Mathieu and Neymar went to a venue in Barceloneta, where they ran into several Espanyol players.

Among them, according to Cases, was former Barça player Victor Sanchez, but also Jorge Franco, the player on loan from Real Madrid better known as Burgui.

It's said that when Pique saw Burgui, he decided to approach him so to reprimand him for the words he said in January, “Pique leaves a lot to be desired as a person".

A small brawl kicked off, but it didn't go too far as several of the players involved were keen to keep a lid on events.

According to 8TV, there were some very tense moments between the two sets of players, but the fact it was a local venue with members of the public also there prevented things escalating.
