Aston Villa may already be looking at a potential replacement for Phillipe Coutinho.

The Brazilian playmaker has left on a loan deal for Al Duhail in Saudi Arabia, having struggled at Villa Park.

Coutinho, signed under Steven Gerrard after an impressive loan spell at Villa, is likely to move on from the Premier League club permanently next summer.

Villa are now assessing Villarreal winger and attacking midfielder Alex Baena.

The 22-year-old is a Spanish international and has a €35 million release clause in his contract.

Given how Villa have been backing manager Unai Emery, such a sum would be well within their range.
