Aston Villa have jumped into the battle for Inter Milan veteran Ashley Young.

The Mirror says Young could complete an emotional return to Aston Villa, with the Inter Milan defender considering a move back to the Premier League.

The former England international helped the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title last year and has been offered a new deal to stay at the San Siro.

However, he is said to be mulling over his options amid significant interest from the English top-flight.

Watford and Burnley are also in the mix, but Dean Smith is keen to bring him back to Villa Park as he would offer cover in a number of positions.

Villa have already signed Emi Buendia in a club record deal this summer, whilst interest remains in Southampton star James Ward-Prowse.
