Aston Villa are ready to test the resolve of Leicester City with a bid for Jamie Vardy.

The Express & Star says Villa are considering moving for Vardy, whose value has risen after his call-up to the full England team.

Vardy finished the season by helping City to survival, which caught national boss Roy Hodgson's eye, and his club will battle to keep him.

The 28-year-old may also decide he wants to stay at the King Power Stadium, too, but Villa believe a £7million bid might tempt the Foxes.
