Aston Villa face a battle to prise Florentin Pogba away from Saint Etienne.

The defender is interesting Villa boss Tim Sherwood as he prepares to lose Dutch defender Ron Vlaar to a Bosman transfer this summer.

Pogba is the older brother of Juventus star Paul Pogba and has a year to run on his Les Verts deal.

"I'm in talks to extend the current agreement," he says. "I want to stay, we will see.

"At the moment I can say only that I have left another year on my contract."
