Aston Villa are not giving up on signing a Spanish forward in the summer.
The Premier League club pushed hard to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao in January.
However, the Basque club rejected their offers and Williams was happy to stay.
Per the Daily Mail, Williams will be targeted again as he has not signed a new deal.
Athletic Club may be more inclined to sell him for a price lower than his release clause in the summer.
However, Williams would have to be convinced to make the move to Villa, who would not likely be able to offer European football.
