Emiliano Buendia insists he can play alongside new Aston Villa teammate Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho completed a loan move to Villa from Barcelona this week and could make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.

The Brazilian is a similar player to Buendia, but the former Norwich man has welcomed his arrival at Villa Park.

"Of course, a top, top player," Buendia told Sky Sports when asked about Coutinho.

"He has shown his quality during his whole career - he was the best player at Liverpool

"He has shown what he can do in this league. He can bring a lot of quality to the squad and to the games, so it's a really good opportunity for everyone here to play with him.

"Obviously, we are similar players, we want to create and dribble - but we can play together with our team's style and formation. We are quite flexible to play in different roles and positions.

"So yes, we can play together and I hope to, because I can learn a lot from a player like him."
