Aston Villa No1 Tom Heaton has hailed England's current goalkeepers pool.

Heaton will go up against one of them in Nick Pope when he faces an emotional reunion with ex-club Burnley at Villa Park today.

Everton's Jordan Pickford, Angus Gunn, Dean Henderson, Aaron Ramsdale and Ben Foster are also all playing every week.

Heaton, capped three times, told The Sun: “It's a really strong time for English goalkeeping.

“You only have to look at the evidence in the Premier League at the number of English keepers playing.

“It's a big year with the Euros coming up. I'm really hungry to keep performing well for Villa, keep improving my game and hopefully that will mean I can still push on in the international set-up."
