Aston Villa are locked in swap talks with Blackburn Rovers for defender Christopher Samba.
Despite being reinstated as club captain, Samba again admitted last week that he was considering his future at Ewood Park.
The Daily Mail says Villa remain eager to sign Samba, with Stephen Warnock and James Collins being discussed as possible makeweights in an £8m deal for the defender.
The centre-half has also been linked with Arsenal this month.
