Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is a target for Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce.

The Sun says Bruce hopes the 6ft 7in ex-England striker will fancy the challenge of playing every week and following John Terry to the Championship giants.

Crouch, 36, is still in first-team plans at Stoke but he is unlikely to figure much next season and the time may be right for him to move on.

Bruce does not want to pay a big fee for Crouch because he knows he will have to pick up his Premier League wages.

Owner Doctor Tony Xia dug deep to get the money together for Terry, and Crouch would need a similar cash lure to make the move.
