Aston Villa facing need to sell star over FFP pressure

Premier League high flyers Aston Villa are in financial difficulty with respect to FFP rules.

The Midlands club have been lavish spenders since Unai Emery took charge, and even in the years before.

While their owners do have enough funds to bankroll the spending, FFP rules do not allocate for such a circumstance.

Per The Mail, the club's nearly £120 million loss in the last accounting year is a big issue.

They may now have to sell at least one star player in each of the next two or three summers.

The club were able to get around FFP issues by selling homegrown talents such as Cameron Archer, Aaron Ramsey, and Jaden Philogene last summer.
