Aston Villa defender Konsa welcomes Emery impact; praises Torres

Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa says he's always learning from manager Unai Emery.

Konsa was speaking after their win at Chelsea on Sunday.

“When the boss first came in and we started doing it, it was weird," Konsa admitted after the win over Chelsea. “It was strange for me, because with the previous managers we've had, we've never had to do that and they never wanted us to do that.

“I still feel like we're not 100 per cent there yet, we're still making mistakes. But I think that's normal when you're trying to play a high line, learn and like you said, once you play the high line, regardless if it's onside or offside, we just have to run back as quick as we can.

“I feel like we've adjusted to that really well. We do make mistakes and that's gonna happen but we're trying to perfect it and we're not going to change it."

Asked about his partnership with Pau Torres, Konsa added: “I guess it's about developing that relationship with Pau as well. Ty is a big miss for us but Pau coming in has done really well, played really well today and we got a clean sheet."
