Aston Villa consider recalling Barry from Ipswich

Aston Villa striker Louie Barry is struggling for action on-loan with Ipswich Town.

The forward has played just 68 minutes of league football this season and has been left out of the matchday squad for the last five weeks, including in Saturday's League One match against Shrewsbury Town.

That has led to suggestions that Barry could be recalled by Villa when the January window opens, with the club keen for him to get some more game time.

Speaking of the youngster this week, Ipswich boss Paul Cook explained his decision to leave the striker out of the squad over the last few weeks.

"The squad is very, very strong, the size of the squad is strong," he said. “Getting on our bench at the minute now is very, very tough and they're the decisions you have to make."
