Aston Villa boss Unai Emery was delighted with Robin Olsen's performance for victory at Tottenham.

Olsen featured with World Cup winner Emi Martinez making the bench on Sunday.

Emery said: "Emi is very important and he is number one.

"Robin knows his role and he is a very positive person. Matches like today, when we need him, he delivers.

"This was the plan. We planned to let Emi rest for a few days after the WC, and we are trying to work with Robin and give him confidence. You gain confidence by showing things on the field and playing matches like today.

"He deserved his clean sheet (Villa won 2-0). His performance was incredible. Emi will train tomorrow and Tuesday and get closer to playing, but after today we know we can believe in Robin Olsen."
