Aston Villa boss Emery delighted with early Diaby impact

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is full of praise for the club's new signing Moussa Diaby.

The former Bayer Leverkusen attacker has come in for big money to the Villa Park club.

He has already showcased his talent, scoring in a friendly against Fulham in the United States.

Emery told reporters: "It was his first 45 minutes to give us information and trying to connect and to be with his teammates knowing them better.

“Of course, Jaden [Philogene] as well, Jaden he scored and that's very good for him and we have to help them and give them chances to show their capacity and their skill and the process.

“I am happy with the different circumstances we had on the pitch and players. We are in pre-season and we want to practice having more games than training and that was very important for us."

He added on Diaby making the most of his chances: "We have to keep our performance individually and through the collective.

“It was a difficult match against Fulham because they are an organized team and they have very good players and the match was a bit like when we played them in the Premier League in April. It was a good test for how we will then face them again in the season."
