Mike Ashley remains fully committed to Newcastle United.

The Times says Ashley is committed to seeing how far Newcastle United can progress under Kevin Keegan's management in spite of a new spate of reports suggesting that the club's billionaire owner is intending to sell up. Newcastle dismissed Sam Allardyce last month and appointed Keegan as his successor.

It has been reported that associates of Ashley approached PCP, a third-party financing company, in a bid to attract interest from Dubai Investment Capital, which is eager to take over at Liverpool. However, a senior source at St James' Park has denied any knowledge of or contact with PCP.
