Mikel Arteta admits he's in awe of his Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.

Arteta, a deadline-day transfer from Everton, has made a seamless transition to life at Emirates Stadium and Van Persie's quality has caught his eye on the pitch.

"He is up there with the best three or four players I have ever played with, a natural talent," said Arteta.

"There is no effort when he plays. He scores goals and plays beautifully.

"As a captain he is a really nice person who tries to help people. We are pleased we have got him."
