Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been ruled out for at least six weeks with a cracked bone in his right leg. "Cesc will miss the remainder of the domestic campaign as he will be out of action for at least six weeks," a statement on the club's website confirmed.
The Spain midfielder injured his right fibula in a collision with Barcelona defender Carles Puyol in Wednesday's 2-2 Champions League quarter-final first leg draw.
A scan on Thursday confirmed the worst from a Gunners perspective as they chase Chelsea and Manchester United for the Premiership title.
However, he should be fit for the World Cup finals.
