Arsenal's pre-season tour of the United States will not include youngster Reiss Nelson.

The 23-year-old has picked up a knock during the club's friendly against FC Nurnberg.

While the injury is not serious, the laceration on his foot that Nelson picked up will keep him out for a short period.

The Gunners do not want to rush him back, as they believe he can train individually until the first team is back from the USA portion of preseason preparations.

Nelson has signed a new long term contract with the club after a mixed previous season.

While he made a few first team appearances, he was a backup in manager Mikel Arteta's mind.
