Arsenal's last ditch bid to lure Juventus striker Simone Zaza to the Emirates Stadium fell through on deadline day, according to reports.
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb is reporting the Gunners contacted Zaza's agent during the finals stages of Tuesday's transfer deadline, in order to investigate the possibility of a deal.
However, the Premier League outfit were reportedly put off by Juventus' £22million asking price for the 24-year-old.
It is understood Juventus' hefty valuation of Zaza was the result of the Italian transfer deadline having already passed, meaning the Bianconeri would not have been able to sign a replacement for the Italian international.
