Arsenal will wear their away kit during the Champions League meeting with FC Basel at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
The Gunners have been ordered to wear their yellow kit for the meeting in north London by Uefa because the sleeves on their home shirt clash with the visitors' all-white away jersey.
Uefa have specified that Arsenal must wear their away kit because the red, blue and black on Basel's home shirt is also too similar to the hosts famous red kit.
Basel do not have a third kit.
A message on the Gunners website confirming the kit news noted Arsenal have been in a similar situation before.
It read: "Supporters will recall that it's not the first time Arsenal have worn an away strip at home.
"In season 1998/99, the official Uefa kit policy dictated that any clash in first choice kits led to the home team changing shirts – hence we wore our away kit at home to Lens for example."
